Through partner organisations or during ‘Treatment and Training’ assessment clinics, children are often identified who for one reason or another cannot get treated in their home country. Some reasons include lack of facilities, concerns about post-operative care or the complexity of the disability and treatment required. These children may come from institutions, hospitals, foster homes or very poor circumstances. They have one thing in common, however – their lives could be transformed by medical treatment for their disability.
Treatment can be in various forms – securing medication or orthoses, providing physiotherapy support, or surgery. In some cases there may be a deadline for any intervention to have the desired impact.
When funds and facilities become available F.R.O.D.O. is able to call on skilled and experienced medical professionals from the UK and USA, to identify and offer appropriate treatment overseas so that children can receive life changing treatment which will give them a chance to smile again.

If I had to have another operation I wouldn’t hesitate to say ‘yes’ because I know everyone from F.R.O.D.O. will do their best to help as they do to help all children in my situation
