F.R.O.D.O. programmes are one and indivisible. Working in partnership with local hospitals, child protection authorities and other NGOs, F.R.O.D.O. ensures that disadvantaged children are identified and cared for. Through F.R.O.D.O. Medical and F.R.O.D.O. WellBeing, we take a holistic approach to children and to their care, ensuring the synergistic programmes we operate will contribute to each child reaching their full potential.
The need for disability education and awareness at every level is obvious. If left without care, many disadvantaged and disabled children remain disengaged and often unemployed after their education because of the difficulties in employing them. Consequently they remain closed in their homes, becoming a burden for their families, increasing depression and damning themselves for their disability.
In many Eastern European countries children with disabilities and life-threatening conditions have a difficult time accessing treatment.
Many disadvantaged children with these conditions receive little or no care, which causes a deterioration of their medical condition, aggravates their sense of hopelessness and damages their self image. Lack of specialised services means that the interaction and activity of disabled children is often confined to their own homes and for some children with physical disabilities the environment outside their home is almost inaccessible.
Working through partnerships, F.R.O.D.O. is developing training and support for Government, NGOs and others working with or caring for disabled children. Our projects contribute to the Children’s WellBeing, medical needs and will help in the development and integration of disabled children into society.
