Marina

Marina was extremely ill when she was found in her hospital bed where she spent the first 2 years of her life. She shuddered frequently, had a gaunt appearance, was unable to keep food down, was very weak to the extent that she could not sit up. F.R.O.D.O. brought blood and urine samples to the U.K. for analysis and discovered that Marina most likely had PKU – Phenylketonuria, a disease which disrupts the correct digestion of protein and can cause neurological disorders. Our partner charity did more tests in Holland, confirming the diagnosis. F.R.O.D.O. then supplied medicine for Marina that is not available in Romania.
