Robin has some familiarity with the plight of orphans. Following his mother’s death when he was 10, social services placed Robin in an institution housing approximately 115 children, then 2 foster homes, until his father remarried when he was 15.
Following a BBC documentary which highlighted the plight of abandoned children living with disability in eastern Europe, Robin decided to establish a charity to try to help.
No matter where they live, a disabled child needs a strong parent to fight and care for their childs needs. A disabled child who is abandoned by their parents and living in a developing country is desperate, often living without care, love or hope.
F.R.O.D.O. became a U.K. registered charity in June of 2006. Robin provided the initial funding to establish F.R.O.D.O., hire staff, and commence helping the children. He works as Chairman and Trustee on a voluntary basis.
Robin was educated at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, then received his MBA from Harvard Business School. After training on Wall Street with Salomon Brothers (now a part of Citigroup), he transferred to London where he continued his career in finance, becoming a Managing Director of several investment banks.

Robin’s own experience of living in an orphanage made him go to Romania and see the situation for himself
